Are Kei Trucks Street Legal in Kentucky? They Should be Soon!

Good news for mini truck lovers in the Bluegrass State! There’s a bill on the horizon to help out kei truck owners in a few specific ways.

First, this bill seeks to revise the rules around so called “street-legal special purpose vehicles” such as ATVs, side-by-sides, and unregistered kei trucks allowing them to travel up to 20 miles on highways. Good news for owners of off-road kei trucks, like our new stock that is under 25 years old. It will allow them to be able to drive their trucks for short distances on highways to make them useable between trails and private property. Let the mini trucks roam!

Additionally, the bill says that kei trucks would be able to be registered by the DMV for use on public roads. Having this officially ratified into law will make the process of registering kei trucks imported to Kentucky much easier.
